Owing to betrayal, Gerard Sanders has been arrested by the commander of the SD, the day he was going to his hiding address, 12 April 1942, on the road from Enschede to Hengelo. However he managed to get a letter to his wife smuggled out of the headoffice of police in Enschede. The picture shows the frontpage of that letter. Private collection
