Toen Ludwig Landmann (uiterst rechts) burgemeester was van Frankfurt, was Bruno Asch (tweede van rechts) zijn wethouder van financiën. Beiden zagen zich vanwege hun joodse achtergrond gedwongen te vluchten voor de nazi's. Asch woonde vanaf 1933 in Amsterdam en maakte een eind aan zijn leven op 15 mei 1940. About Bruno Asch

Bruno Asch exercised several public offices between 1920 and 1933 in Höchst am Main, Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. He was mayor of Höchst from 1922 till 1925. In 1933 he fled from Germany as a Jew and a socialist. He ended his own life on 16 May 1940. In 1994 a memorial plate for him was revealed i…
