Ben Stranders heeft direct na de oorlog zijn herinneringen aan het gezin Judels in een brief aan zijn vrienden Bram en Suze Snoek vastgelegd. Bram Snoek, Louis Judels en Ben Stranders waren vrienden. De familie Judels verkoos zelfdoding in het begin van de oorlog.
