About Catharina Polak Daniels-Pleijte

Catharina Polak Daniels-Pleijte committed suicide on 14 May 1940. She was buried at the 'Oud Eik en Duinen' cemetery in The Hague. Both children from the Polak Daniels family survived the war. Addition of a visitor of the website

It is still an extremely sensitive topic: suicide during the Second World War. Historians have not known what to do with it for a long time. What is the place of suicide bombers in war history? Het echtpaar Polak Daniels-Pleijte verbleef bij hun zoon Anselm Polak Daniels, die overigens arts was, aan het Lyceumplein 13 (niet 12). Het echtpaar pleegt zelfmoord door 5 gram van het slaapmiddel veronal en cyaankali.
