Lambertus Lodewijk Gudema lived with his parents in Amsterdam. He was unmarried. He joined the resistance as a schoolboy. As a member of Loek Visser's group, he helped Jews in hiding. On 9 March 1944 he was caught in Amsterdam and deported to Auschwitz via the prison in Scheveningen and Westerbork.
