In a Red Cross letter, sent by friends of the family to the father-in-law of Esther (Stella) Stoppelman-Delden who stayed in London during the war, it is already mentioned on 26 June 1943 that Esther was deported. In this letter the deportation of her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Louis and Froukje Cohen-Stoppelman is also mentioned. Private collection
Esther Delden was married. Together with her husband, brothers and sisters she was deported to Auschwitz. Her husband has survived the war. A few days after the liberation he has written about the deportation in a letter to Miep Gies, a friend of the family. This letter has been preserved.
