De Berg-stichting is in 1909 opgericht als opvanghuis voor joodse kinderen uit noodlijdende gezinnen en voogdij kinderen. In 1940 waren 106 jongens en meisjes tussen 4 en 21 jaar ondergebracht bij de Berg-stichting. De niet joodse directeur Reitsema heeft zijn pupillen en personeel zo veel mogelijk …
