On Saturday, 11 April 1942, at 7.00 PM, ten Jewish residents of Leeuwarden were arrested in retaliation for removing the sign 'No Jews allowed' from a public bench in the Vossepark. They were sent to the camp at Amersfoort. Abraham de Jong was among them. He lived at 155 Bleeklaan in Leeuwarden.
