Op 23 november 1942 noteerde de gemeente Meppel op 'verzoek' van de bezetter waar de Meppeler joden naartoe waren gebracht en wanneer dat was gebeurd.

Vlak voordat de familie Van Es werd gedeporteerd naar Kamp Westerbork werd de inhoud van hun woning door de Meppeler politie geinventariseerd. Daar werd een lijst van gemaakt.
