Johanna was een zus van fotograaf Carel Adriaan Blazer. Ze werd samen met haar man bij dezelfde gelegenheid opgepakt, namelijk bij het oprollen van de verzetsgroep (spionage) Dutilh, april 1943. Johanna en Carel waren 'halfjoods'. Hun vader was Carel Adriaan Blazer sr. (1881-1948)
