Charles Vecht took care of Jewish refugees from Germany in the thirties. He provided them with food and shelter and in return they worked in his factory. When two of his children went into hiding against his will, he gave them 10.000 guilders nonetheless.

Charles Vecht was a manufacturer. He was married to Elisabeth Heimans. The family lived at 3 Rhijnvis Feithlaan in Zwolle with the parents of Charles, Jacob Vecht and Bertha Weijl.
