Dedemsvaartse Korfbal Vereniging 1914

Op deze foto uit 1914 staan jonge Dedemsvaarters uit alle religieuze en politieke gezindtes bij elkaar. Bovenste rij, derde van links staat Filip Spier, manufacturier die prima overweg kon met zijn klanten uit alle zuilen. Hij had het rotsvaste geloof dat het goede in de mens zal winnen. Hij sloeg alle hulp om hem uit de handen van de Duitsers te houden af en stierf in 1942 in Auschwitz.
