Jacob werd Jaap genoemd. Hij trouwde in 1938 met Johanna Klaber. Ze kregen 3 kinderen Carla (1938), Freddie Bernard (1946) en Harry (1947). Jaap was een zoon van Hijman Swalef en Clara Kerkmeester. Zij werden vermoord in Auschwitz, Jaap overleefde met vrouw en dochter in onderduik in Venlo de oorlog…
