Abraham Leizer Färber, born 2 June 1899 in Oswieçim (Poland) arrived from Germany in Den Haag in 1924. His wedding was however in Germany: on 13 April 1933 he married Beile Springer, born 17 March 1905 in Nowy Sacz (Poland) in Düsseldorf and on 1 May 1933 she became an inhabitant of Den Haag.
In Den Haag, three children were born to the couple Färber: Leo in 1934, Richard in 1935 and Jeanne in 1937. Leo passed away in Den Haag, on 31 August 1942 but Richard and Jeanne were killed in the Shoah, just as their parents.
Abraham Leizer Färber has been taken in from 22 January 1942 opgenomen in the “Apeldoornse Bos” in Apeldoorn. Until that time he lived on Hofwijckstraat 29, after he moved a few times in The Hague to other addresses, However, together with other patients and personnel he was deported from there to Auschwitz and upon arrival there on 26 January 1943 immediately killed.
Also his wife Beile Springer was on 22 January 1943 from the Apeldoornse Bos deported to Auschwitz too and upon arrival there on 25 January 1943 also immediately killed.
Since the moment that Abraham Leizer Färber and his wife Beile Springer no longer resided at Hofwijckstraat 29 in Den Haag, the three children were accommodated in the Israelitic Orphanage at Pletterijstraat 55 in Den Haag. There, Leo Färber passed away at age 8 on 31 August 1942. But Richard and Jeanne Färber were registered in Camp Westerbork on 6 March 1943 and they stayed there for some days in barack 66. On 10 March they were both deported to Sobibor where they were killed immediately upon arrival there on 14 March 1943.
