In 1934 a Quaker School opened in Eerde (community of Ommen). A few young German refugees attended the school, where they were trained for farm life in Palestine. On 1 September 1941 the Jewish students were transferred to a separate school in Eerde, run by a Jewish teacher. On 10 April 1943 they were sent to Vught concentration camp. Hermann Isaac was among them.
