Jakob Benninga

Jacob (Jaap) Benninga is geboren in Amsterdam in 1892. Hij was directeur van twee margarinefabrieken in Engeland. In 1940 probeerde hij tevergeefs zijn gezin naar Engeland te halen. Daarna pleegde hij zelfmoord.

Jacob ‘Jaap’ Benninga vluchtte samen met zijn gezin en andere familieleden in de meidagen van 1940 naar IJmuiden, om vandaar naar Engeland over te steken. De vluchtpoging mislukte.
