Hartog Kloot was arrested in Amsterdam on 17 Februari 1942. He arrived in Auschwitz on 25 March 1944 where he said to be a tailor. On 28 January he was transported to Mauthausen, only to arrive in Neuengamme on 6 February 1945. He presumably died shortly after his arrival in Bergen-Belsen.

Hartog Kloot trouwt op 12 augustus 1942 in Amsterdam met Hester Levie (28-01-1922, Amsterdam). Zij overleefd uiteindelijk de oorlog (https://www.ushmm.org/online/hsv/person_view.php?PersonId=5645679). Zij staat op een Lijst van zich in Zweden bevindende Joden, bevrijd in Duitsland.
