Marcus Lelyveld was taken to Camp Erika near Ommen in June 1942 as a prisoner, after being convicted of a criminal offence by a Dutch court. He died a few months later from the ill-treatment he suffered there. He was buried at the Jewish Cemetery in Ommen.
