Zijn echtgenote heeft inderdaad de oorlog en Auschwitz overleefd. Zij is inmiddels overleden. Er waren drie kinderen, alledrie ondergedoken, alledrie de oorlog overleefd en ook in januari 2013 nog in leven. De dochters wonen in Israel, de zoon in Nederland.
