Hartog Levee was the son of Michel Hartog Levee and Ester Lobatto. He married Anna Wolf, daughter of Meijer Wolf and Sophia Roodenburg, in Amsterdam on 3 May 1905. Since 1936 the couple lived in Berchem, Belgium.
