Julius van Hessen is geboren in 1875 in Groningen. Hij was slager. Deels woonde hij op Schiermonnikoog, waar hij ook een slagerij had. Samen met zijn vrouw is hij in 1943 in Sobibor omgebracht. Op de foto Julius en zijn vrouw Hennie Beer. Het jongetje links is zoon Paul. Hij diende tijdens de oorlog bij de RAF.
