Caroline van Loen was the sixth child of Abraham van Loen and Cato Hirsch. From October 1905 she studied mathematics and physics in Leiden. de gezusters Carolina en  Flora van Loen verbleven vanaf juli 1943 in het rusthuis van mijn oudtante,Elisabeth Jacoba Hermsen, aan de Schuytstraat 188 te Den Haag. Daar werden zij, tesamen met 4 andere joodse vrouwen op 24 februari 1944 gearresteerd en vervolgens gedeporteerd.
