After the war the information office of the Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC) created a file for Maurits under dossier number 29,567?, which contained all the information known at that time about him and his persecution. The NLRC assigned dossier numbers 72,039? to his son Hans and 120,366? to his son Robert. Also noted were the names of Maurits's family members, their dates of birth, and Maurits's death on 4 April 1943 in Vught concentration camp.
