Walter Koch (Uri Kochba), painted his fellow member of the HeHalutz movement in the Netherlands, a member of the Westerweel group (the pioneering underground in the Netherlands), who was jailed and committed suicide in prison.
The text on the bottom are the last lines of a poem by Rachel the Poetess, "KaEle BaAviv Yamutu", written in Tel Aviv in 1926."
