Scope and content

 

This sub-unit contains individual documentation from Concentration Camp Buchenwald, arranged by the ITS into personal files. The first page of each file is an envelope created by the ITS, This envelope contains personal data on the individual and a listing of the document types contained in the file. It can also include an ITS inquiry file number (T/D-number).

Administrative History

 

Please note that while the majority of the material in the files comprises original documentation from the period of this camp's existence as a Nazi persecution site, the compilation of the files was carried out by the ITS from various sources it holds.

6944652 - MOSES ROODVELDT

 

Mozes was one of the men arrested in the raid in Amsterdam on 23 February 1941. On 28 February 1941 he arrived in Buchenwald (prisoner no. 1040), from where he was deported to Mauthausen on 22 May 1941. From there, according to a note in his "Mauthausen file", he was sent to Dachau on 13 Aug 1941, this was actually Schloss Hartheim, where prisoners, who could no longer work, were sent to be gassed.
