Maurits Wagenhuizen, born 13 Dece,ber 1908 in Amserdam, was a son of David Wagenhuizen and Cecilia Jacobs. He married 29 August 1934 Margaretha Deen in Amsterdam, a daughter of Jacob Deen and Heintje Blitz. They went living at Ceintuurbaan 440 ground floor but moved 4 January 1940 to Stadhouderskade 124 grond floor where on 23 May 1940 their daughter Henny was born. .
His wife Margaretha Deen and his daughter Henny have survived the Holocaust. Maurits however was a victim of the 2nd raid in Amsterdam which has been taken place 11 June 1941, in Jewish pubs and sport clubs. This was a reprisal for attacks on buildings in use by the Wehrmacht. 310 men were arrested and 277 people were deported to Mauthausen via Camp Schoorl and Alkmaar station on 22 June 1941, among them Maurits Wagenhuizen. There in Mauthausen, Maurits Wagenhuizen was killed on 23 June 1942.
