Hartog Pijpeman was a son of Wolf Pijpeman, a dealer in sponges, and Roosje Trijtel. Hartog had six other brothers and one sister, namely Samuel Hartog, Meijer, Joseph, Jacob, Philip, Abraham and Sara. Only his sister Sara has survived the Holocaust. His mother passed away already in 1926 in Rotterdam but his father and all his brothers were killed in the Shoah.
According the family registration card of his father Wolf Pijpeman from the City Archive of Rotterdam, was Hartog a dealer of various items. He was unmarried. From notes at his registration card of the Archive of the Jewish Council, it appeared that he has arrived in Westerbork 7 August 1942 and that he departed 17 August 1942, together with his brother Joseph, as a volunteer into the labor camp. That date in August, Hartog Pijpeman was put on transport to Auschwitz. His certificate of death from the death register of Rotterdam, nr, 3078, 1950 v4-008v shows that Hartog Pijpeman was killed in Auschwitz on 30 September 1942.
