David Hartog was part of the resistance in Utrecht together with his father and three siblings. His older brother worried about the reliability of the hiding place of him and his sister Jansje and found another address. There they were still betrayed and arrested at a later stage.
Addition of a visitor of the website
The mayor of Groenlo ordered that David Hartog be located, detained and brought to trial. A resident of Groenlo, he was suspected of having changed his place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
