Jacob Gokkes and his family

Addition -

The Germans assigned Jacob Gokkes to a train for the transport of the sick and David Gokkes to transport on foot. Since David had weak feet and because his father was extremely weak, he tried to travel together with his father. Jacob would not allow him to do so, believing that the prisoners in the train for the sick would be shot dead. In the end, David went on foot and died of exhaustion. Jacob died of cold and starvation.
