A postcard from Fritz Blau, dated 20 July 1940, then residing in Rotterdam and sent to Dr. Franz Berg in Shanghai. Fritz Blau, his wife Mina and little daughter Magdalena are waiting in Rotterdam for passage to America. He needs embarkation papers for the journey to New York but doesn't have the means. He asks Dr. Franz Berg whether he can help him by ordering American Express in Rotterdam to provide him and his family of the needed travelling papers and he urgently hopes not to be failed and that all will be done to help them to get away.
